“Come Closer: Art Around the Bowery, 1969–1989” explores the landscape, networks, and concerns of our neighborhood during the 1970s and 1980s. The exhibition draws upon the New Museum’s Bowery Artist Tribute, which records and preserves this rich art history through interviews, public programs, a publication series, and a website.

“Come Closer: Art Around the Bowery, 1969–1989” is on view at the New Museum through December 30, 2012.
